Merseyside Maritime Museum: Merseyside is one of the most important port areas of the United Kingdom and has played its part in the development of the nation in an industrial manner for hundreds of years. This museum celebrates the long history of sea related activities in this community, which go beyond shipbuilding and ferries, to fishing and trading. Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King: Visit Liverpool’s dramatic modern circular Roman Catholic cathedral with its magnificent multi-coloured windows and modern art works. Admission is free but a donation of £3 per person is requested to help maintain the building. The cathedral also has a visitor centre incorporating a gift shop, restaurant and information centre. Open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm Sunday. The Lutyons Crypt is now open to the public from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday - admission charges apply.
